Damaged stock is held the moment it is found.
Quarantine is a ledger movement. The stock leaves its location for the Quarantine area and cannot be allocated to any order until it is inspected and resolved.
Three ways stock is held
Every hold creates a quarantine record and a balanced ledger entry in the same transaction.

Customer return Returns
Damaged LPNs can only be put away into quarantine locations. Normal storage bins are filtered out, so damaged goods never reach a pick face.
-

Release to stock
The item passes inspection. The put-away engine suggests a storage bin and the stock becomes available again.
Debit Storage, credit Quarantine -

Return to supplier
The goods go back to the supplier and leave your warehouse balance.
Debit External Supplier, credit Quarantine -

Dispose
The goods cannot be recovered. They are destroyed and the disposal is logged against the LPN.
Debit Disposal Void, credit Quarantine -

Split the LPN
Part of the stock is fine. The good units move to a new child LPN and go back to stock, and the rest is disposed or returned.
Four ledger legs, one transaction
Inspect first, then decide.
No quarantine record can be resolved until an inspection is recorded. Every decision carries inspector notes, optional photos and a supervisor sign-off.
-
Hold
The LPN moves to the Quarantine area on the ledger and is removed from available stock straight away.
-
Inspect
The inspector records the result as fully recoverable, fully unrecoverable or partially recoverable, with notes and photos.
-
Choose the outcome
Release, return, dispose or split. A partial split is only allowed when the product's packaging level can be broken down.
-
Sign off
A supervisor approves the resolution. The ledger entry is written and the trial balance is checked before it commits.

Customer returns with a clean paper trail.
Each return is raised as an RMA, received against a fresh LPN and split by condition at the dock. Good units go back to storage and damaged units go straight to quarantine.
-
Create the RMA
An Operations Manager or Supervisor raises the return and can edit it until it is authorized.
-
Authorize or cancel
The return is approved for receiving, or cancelled if the customer withdraws it.
-
Receive at the dock
Each line is received against a new LPN. A scan can auto-fill batch and expiry, but is optional so unlabelled returns are never blocked.

Issue the RRN
A bilingual Return Receipt Note is generated as a PDF in English and Arabic when the return is complete.
-

Always a fresh LPN
Returned goods are never reattached to the original dispatched LPN, so outbound history stays accurate.
-

Forced inspection
Turn on Require Return Inspection for regulated or high-value products to hold every return, even fully good ones.
-

Reverses the dispatch
The receipt debits the Receiving area and credits the External Customer account, mirroring the original dispatch.
Billed fairly, never twice.
Quarantine time and returns handling are separate charges on the customer contract. Each one is calculated automatically from the ledger and the quarantine records.
-

Quarantine hold
Charged per LPN per day on hold, clipped to the billing period at both ends.
-

Returns handling
Charged per LPN received against a return, good and damaged units alike.
-

No double billing
Holds that come from a return are excluded from the quarantine charge, because returns handling already covers them.
-

Full audit trail
Every hold, inspection and resolution is timestamped, tied to a user and kept permanently.
